Three Shoes For School

As soon as the kids are old enough to start school, we can see a lot of mom and dads with their little girl or boy in tow, walking through the aisles of the shoe store and trying to find a perfect pair of school shoes that would fit their little darling's little feet. Children as young as three can now start attending preschool and would be more than excited to choose their very first pair of shoes that they can wear to school to show off to their school mates on the first day of school.

Unlike before where the schools usually have a strict standard when it comes to their student's shoes, a lot of schools nowadays are very flexible and tolerant as to the choices of shoes that their students would want to wear in the hallowed halls of learning. Here are a few choices that have become popular when it comes to school shoes.

* Dress shoes. Dress shoes are what their names suggest; they dress the people who wear them and they can be quite impressive. A number of mom and dads would love to have their kids wear dress shoes as they can look very formal and distinguished. Parents would be delighted to see their usually rowdy and unruly little boys, look all clean and decent like fine little men as they match their uniform with a good pair of dress shoes. Dress shoes are still a standard and a requirement for a few private schools so parents should do well to remember to choose them if their little boy is going into such a school. Dress shoes need constant care and should get a daily dose of polish to maintain its shine and beauty.

* Casual shoes. Casual shoes are more preferred by little boys and girls and perhaps, by some parents also as they are more relaxed and unfussy. Casual shoes have a more comfortable feel as compared to dress shoes. Little boys and girls who start school can be very active and so they would need a good pair of shoes which would give them good comfort while they are walking inside the school halls or perhaps, doing some running in one of their more active recess or after school games. Children can do more plays with casual shoes as they would not have to worry about ruining their pricier and more stylish dress shoes.

* Athletic shoes. If your little boy or little girl is one that tends to enjoy more time in the playground and less inside the classroom, then it might be best to get him or her athletic shoes to wear for school. Before athletic shoes may only be allowed during gym classes but nowadays, they can be worn even during the more academic classes.

In choosing what shoes their little children should wear, mom and dads should always ask for their children's opinion and as much as possible, cater to their whims. They are after all the ones who would be wearing that pair of shoes every school day so they should be comfortable to sport them.
