Six High Heel Shoe Shopping Tips

We all know that not all women are okay about the thought of wearing low heeled or flat shoes. Some end up feeling uneasy and self conscious if they are wearing low heeled shoes. So in case you are one of them, here are some shoe tips that you can use the next time you shop for high heels or heeled shoes.

1. Look for or buy high heeled shoes that have really thick soles. Remember that the soles are the ones that absorb the shock so the thicker the soles, the more shock it is able to absorb. If you buy high heeled shoes that have thicker soles especially at the front, then it will be able to absorb more shock sparing your feet from all the pressure it has to endure.

2. Look for heeled shoes that use materials that allow your feet to swell without pinching it. Remember that as the day wears on, your feet tend to swell. So if you are wearing high heeled shoes that are too firm, then your feet won't be able to swell the natural way. It will end up compressed and once you take your shoes off, you will surely notice pinch marks. Materials that allow the feet to swell are leather and microfiber.

3. In some situations, there are times when one is required to wear high heeled shoes. To keep your feet from suffering, you might want to consider alternating high heeled shoes and low heeled shoes. Limiting your time in wearing high heeled shoes may also reduce the risk of you suffering the negative effects of wearing heels for long periods of time. Doing the alternate will keep your Achilles tendon from tightening and saving your from heel pains.

4. Always check your shoe size. One common mistake is sticking to one shoe size and not updating it. Remember that as one grows older, certain or slight changes in the shoe size might take place. Although you are not required to measure your feet every month, it would still be helpful if you recheck it once or twice a year. Keep in mind also that when measuring your feet, make sure that you are standing up because the feet widens when you step on it.

5. Wear high heeled shoes that have wide toe boxes. A wider toe box will allow your toes to spread out. Narrow toe boxes have the tendency to compress your toes which can result to hammer toes. Other than that, a wider toe box will also keep you from having bunions, corns and calluses.

6. Buy shoes that feel comfortable the first time you wear it. Most experts believe that shoes should be comfortable immediately and that no break-in period should be required. To check for comfort, wiggle as well as bend your toes. If you are able to wiggle your toes and the soles are able to bend at the ball of the foot, then you know you made the right choice.
